The <\/i> header is used by three mechanisms for XSI interprocess communication (IPC): messages, semaphores, and shared memory. All use a common structure type, ipc_perm<\/b>, to pass information used in determining permission to perform an IPC operation.<\/p>\n

The <\/i> header shall define the ipc_perm<\/b> structure, which shall include the following members:<\/p>\n

uid_t uid Owner\u2019s user ID.
gid_t gid Owner\u2019s group ID.
uid_t cuid Creator\u2019s user ID.
gid_t cgid Creator\u2019s group ID.
mode_t mode Read\/write permission.<\/p>\n

The <\/i> header shall define the uid_t<\/b>, gid_t<\/b>, mode_t<\/b>, and key_t<\/b> types as described in <\/i>.<\/p>\n
