This manual page is part of the POSIX Programmer\u2019s Manual. The Linux implementation of this interface may differ (consult the corresponding Linux manual page for details of Linux behavior), or the interface may not be implemented on Linux.<\/p>\n

getsid \u2014 get the process group ID of a session leader<\/p>\n

SYNOPSIS <\/a> <\/h2>\n

pid_t getsid(pid_t pid<\/i>);<\/p>\n

DESCRIPTION <\/a> <\/h2>\n

The getsid<\/i>() function shall obtain the process group ID of the process that is the session leader of the process specified by pid<\/i>. If pid<\/i> is (pid_t<\/b>)0, it specifies the calling process.<\/p>\n

RETURN VALUE <\/a> <\/h2>\n

Upon successful completion, getsid<\/i>() shall return the process group ID of the session leader of the specified process. Otherwise, it shall return \u22121 and set errno<\/i> to indicate the error.<\/p>\n

ERRORS <\/a> <\/h2>\n

The getsid<\/i>() function shall fail if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
