NAME <\/a> <\/h2>\n

aio_return \u2014 retrieve return status of an asynchronous I\/O operation<\/p>\n

DESCRIPTION <\/a> <\/h2>\n

The aio_return<\/i>() function shall return the return status associated with the aiocb<\/b> structure referenced by the aiocbp<\/i> argument. The return status for an asynchronous I\/O operation is the value that would be returned by the corresponding read<\/i>(), write<\/i>(), or fsync<\/i>() function call. If the error status for the operation is equal to [EINPROGRESS]<\/b>, then the return status for the operation is undefined. The aio_return<\/i>() function may be called exactly once to retrieve the return status of a given asynchronous operation; thereafter, if the same aiocb<\/b> structure is used in a call to aio_return<\/i>() or aio_error<\/i>(), an error may be returned. When the aiocb<\/b> structure referred to by aiocbp<\/i> is used to submit another asynchronous operation, then aio_return<\/i>() may be successfully used to retrieve the return status of that operation.<\/p>\n

RETURN VALUE <\/a> <\/h2>\n

If the asynchronous I\/O operation has completed, then the return status, as described for read<\/i>(), write<\/i>(), and fsync<\/i>(), shall be returned. If the asynchronous I\/O operation has not yet completed, the results of aio_return<\/i>() are undefined.<\/p>\n

If the aio_return<\/i>() function fails, it shall return \u22121 and set errno<\/i> to indicate the error.<\/p>\n
