The Linux implementation of this interface may differ (consult the corresponding Linux manual page for details of Linux behavior), or the interface may not be implemented on Linux.<\/p>\n<h2>NAME <a name=\"NAME\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">tcflow \u2014 suspend or restart the transmission or reception of data<\/p>\n<h2>SYNOPSIS <a name=\"SYNOPSIS\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">#include <termios.h><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">int tcflow(int <i>fildes<\/i>, int <i>action<\/i>);<\/p>\n<h2>DESCRIPTION <a name=\"DESCRIPTION\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The <i>tcflow<\/i>() function shall suspend or restart transmission or reception of data on the object referred to by <i>fildes<\/i>, depending on the value of <i>action<\/i>. If <i>fildes<\/i> is associated with a pseudo-terminal, the STOP character need not be transmitted.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr valign=\"top\" align=\"left\">\n<td width=\"12%\"><\/td>\n<td width=\"2%\">\n<p>*<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"3%\"><\/td>\n<td width=\"83%\">\n<p>If <i>action<\/i> is TCION and <i>fildes<\/i> refers to a terminal device, the system shall transmit a START character, which is intended to cause the terminal device to start transmitting data to the system. If <i>fildes<\/i> is associated with a pseudo-terminal, the START character need not be transmitted.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The default on the opening of a terminal file is that neither its input nor its output are suspended.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">Attempts to use <i>tcflow<\/i>() from a process which is a member of a background process group on a <i>fildes<\/i> associated with its controlling terminal, shall cause the process group to be sent a SIGTTOU signal. If the calling thread is blocking SIGTTOU signals or the process is ignoring SIGTTOU signals, the process shall be allowed to perform the operation, and no signal is sent.<\/p>\n<h2>RETURN VALUE <a name=\"RETURN VALUE\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">Upon successful completion, 0 shall be returned.
