The Linux implementation of this interface may differ (consult the corresponding Linux manual page for details of Linux behavior), or the interface may not be implemented on Linux.<\/p>\n<h2>NAME <a name=\"NAME\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">remquo, remquof, remquol \u2014 remainder functions<\/p>\n<h2>SYNOPSIS <a name=\"SYNOPSIS\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">#include <math.h><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">double remquo(double <i>x<\/i>, double <i>y<\/i>, int *<i>quo<\/i>); <br \/> float remquof(float <i>x<\/i>, float <i>y<\/i>, int *<i>quo<\/i>); <br \/> long double remquol(long double <i>x<\/i>, long double <i>y<\/i>, int *<i>quo<\/i>);<\/p>\n<h2>DESCRIPTION <a name=\"DESCRIPTION\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The functionality described on this reference page is aligned with the ISO\u00a0C standard. Any conflict between the requirements described here and the ISO\u00a0C standard is unintentional. This volume of POSIX.1-2017 defers to the ISO\u00a0C standard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The <i>remquo<\/i>(), <i>remquof<\/i>(), and <i>remquol<\/i>() functions shall compute the same remainder as the <i>remainder<\/i>(), <i>remainderf<\/i>(), and <i>remainderl<\/i>() functions, respectively. In the object pointed to by <i>quo<\/i>, they store a value whose sign is the sign of <i>x<\/i>\/<i>y<\/i> and whose magnitude is congruent modulo 2 <i><small><small>n<\/small><\/small><\/i> to the magnitude of the integral quotient of <i>x<\/i>\/<i>y<\/i>, where <i>n<\/i> is an implementation-defined integer greater than or equal to 3. If <i>y<\/i> is zero, the value stored in the object pointed to by <i>quo<\/i> is unspecified.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">An application wishing to check for error situations should set <i>errno<\/i> to zero and call <i>feclearexcept<\/i>(FE_ALL_EXCEPT) before calling these functions. On return, if <i>errno<\/i> is non-zero or <i>fetestexcept<\/i>(FE_INVALID | FE_DIVBYZERO | FE_OVERFLOW | FE_UNDERFLOW) is non-zero, an error has occurred.<\/p>\n<h2>RETURN VALUE <a name=\"RETURN VALUE\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">These functions shall return <i>x<\/i> REM <i>y<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">On systems that do not support the IEC 60559 Floating-Point option, if <i>y<\/i> is zero, it is implementation-defined whether a domain error occurs or zero is returned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">If <i>x<\/i> or <i>y<\/i> is NaN, a NaN shall be returned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">If <i>x<\/i> is \u00b1Inf or <i>y<\/i> is zero and the other argument is non-NaN, a domain error shall occur, and a NaN shall be returned.<\/p>\n<h2>ERRORS <a name=\"ERRORS\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">These functions shall fail if: <br \/> Domain\u00a0Error<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:29%;\">The <i>x<\/i> argument is \u00b1Inf, or the <i>y<\/i> argument is \u00b10 and the other argument is non-NaN.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:29%; margin-top: 1em\">If the integer expression (<i>math_errhandling<\/i> &#038; MATH_ERRNO) is non-zero, then <i>errno<\/i> shall be set to <b>[EDOM]<\/b>. If the integer expression (<i>math_errhandling<\/i> &#038; MATH_ERREXCEPT) is non-zero, then the invalid floating-point exception shall be raised.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">These functions may fail if: <br \/> Domain\u00a0Error<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:29%;\">The <i>y<\/i> argument is zero.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:29%; margin-top: 1em\">If the integer expression (<i>math_errhandling<\/i> &#038; MATH_ERRNO) is non-zero, then <i>errno<\/i> shall be set to <b>[EDOM]<\/b>. If the integer expression (<i>math_errhandling<\/i> &#038; MATH_ERREXCEPT) is non-zero, then the invalid floating-point exception shall be raised.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><i>The following sections are informative.<\/i><\/p>\n<h2>EXAMPLES <a name=\"EXAMPLES\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">None.<\/p>\n<h2>APPLICATION USAGE <a name=\"APPLICATION USAGE\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">On error, the expressions (<i>math_errhandling<\/i> &#038; MATH_ERRNO) and (<i>math_errhandling<\/i> &#038; MATH_ERREXCEPT) are independent of each other, but at least one of them must be non-zero.<\/p>\n<h2>RATIONALE <a name=\"RATIONALE\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">These functions are intended for implementing argument reductions which can exploit a few low-order bits of the quotient.
