sem_destroy \u2014 destroy an unnamed semaphore<\/p>\n

SYNOPSIS <\/a> <\/h2>\n

int sem_destroy(sem_t *sem<\/i>);<\/p>\n

DESCRIPTION <\/a> <\/h2>\n

The sem_destroy<\/i>() function shall destroy the unnamed semaphore indicated by sem<\/i>. Only a semaphore that was created using sem_init<\/i>() may be destroyed using sem_destroy<\/i>(); the effect of calling sem_destroy<\/i>() with a named semaphore is undefined. The effect of subsequent use of the semaphore sem<\/i> is undefined until sem<\/i> is reinitialized by another call to sem_init<\/i>().<\/p>\n

It is safe to destroy an initialized semaphore upon which no threads are currently blocked. The effect of destroying a semaphore upon which other threads are currently blocked is undefined.<\/p>\n

RETURN VALUE <\/a> <\/h2>\n

Upon successful completion, a value of zero shall be returned. Otherwise, a value of \u22121 shall be returned and errno<\/i> set to indicate the error.<\/p>\n

The sem_destroy<\/i>() function may fail if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
