The Linux implementation of this interface may differ (consult the corresponding Linux manual page for details of Linux behavior), or the interface may not be implemented on Linux.<\/p>\n<h2>NAME <a name=\"NAME\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">getsockname \u2014 get the socket name<\/p>\n<h2>SYNOPSIS <a name=\"SYNOPSIS\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">#include <sys\/socket.h><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">int getsockname(int <i>socket<\/i>, struct sockaddr *restrict <i>address<\/i>, <br \/> socklen_t *restrict <i>address_len<\/i>);<\/p>\n<h2>DESCRIPTION <a name=\"DESCRIPTION\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The <i>getsockname<\/i>() function shall retrieve the locally-bound name of the specified socket, store this address in the <b>sockaddr<\/b> structure pointed to by the <i>address<\/i> argument, and store the length of this address in the object pointed to by the <i>address_len<\/i> argument.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The <i>address_len<\/i> argument points to a <b>socklen_t<\/b> object which on input specifies the length of the supplied <b>sockaddr<\/b> structure, and on output specifies the length of the stored address. If the actual length of the address is greater than the length of the supplied <b>sockaddr<\/b> structure, the stored address shall be truncated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">If the socket has not been bound to a local name, the value stored in the object pointed to by <i>address<\/i> is unspecified.<\/p>\n<h2>RETURN VALUE <a name=\"RETURN VALUE\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">Upon successful completion, 0 shall be returned, the <i>address<\/i> argument shall point to the address of the socket, and the <i>address_len<\/i> argument shall point to the length of the address.
