NAME <\/a> <\/h2>\n

getsockname \u2014 get the socket name<\/p>\n

SYNOPSIS <\/a> <\/h2>\n

int getsockname(int socket<\/i>, struct sockaddr *restrict address<\/i>,
socklen_t *restrict address_len<\/i>);<\/p>\n

DESCRIPTION <\/a> <\/h2>\n

The getsockname<\/i>() function shall retrieve the locally-bound name of the specified socket, store this address in the sockaddr<\/b> structure pointed to by the address<\/i> argument, and store the length of this address in the object pointed to by the address_len<\/i> argument.<\/p>\n

The address_len<\/i> argument points to a socklen_t<\/b> object which on input specifies the length of the supplied sockaddr<\/b> structure, and on output specifies the length of the stored address. If the actual length of the address is greater than the length of the supplied sockaddr<\/b> structure, the stored address shall be truncated.<\/p>\n

If the socket has not been bound to a local name, the value stored in the object pointed to by address<\/i> is unspecified.<\/p>\n

RETURN VALUE <\/a> <\/h2>\n

Upon successful completion, 0 shall be returned, the address<\/i> argument shall point to the address of the socket, and the address_len<\/i> argument shall point to the length of the address. Otherwise, \u22121 shall be returned and errno<\/i> set to indicate the error.<\/p>\n

ERRORS <\/a> <\/h2>\n

The getsockname<\/i>() function shall fail if:<\/p>\n\n\n
