The Linux implementation of this interface may differ (consult the corresponding Linux manual page for details of Linux behavior), or the interface may not be implemented on Linux.<\/p>\n<h2>NAME <a name=\"NAME\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">pthread_attr_getschedparam, pthread_attr_setschedparam \u2014 get and set the schedparam attribute<\/p>\n<h2>SYNOPSIS <a name=\"SYNOPSIS\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">#include <pthread.h><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">int pthread_attr_getschedparam(const pthread_attr_t *restrict <i>attr<\/i>, <br \/> struct sched_param *restrict <i>param<\/i>); <br \/> int pthread_attr_setschedparam(pthread_attr_t *restrict <i>attr<\/i>, <br \/> const struct sched_param *restrict <i>param<\/i>);<\/p>\n<h2>DESCRIPTION <a name=\"DESCRIPTION\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The <i>pthread_attr_getschedparam<\/i>() and <i>pthread_attr_setschedparam<\/i>() functions, respectively, shall get and set the scheduling parameter attributes in the <i>attr<\/i> argument. The contents of the <i>param<\/i> structure are defined in the <i><sched.h><\/i> header. For the SCHED_FIFO and SCHED_RR policies, the only required member of <i>param<\/i> is <i>sched_priority<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">For the SCHED_SPORADIC policy, the required members of the <i>param<\/i> structure are <i>sched_priority<\/i>, <i>sched_ss_low_priority<\/i>, <i>sched_ss_repl_period<\/i>, <i>sched_ss_init_budget<\/i>, and <i>sched_ss_max_repl<\/i>. The specified <i>sched_ss_repl_period<\/i> must be greater than or equal to the specified <i>sched_ss_init_budget<\/i> for the function to succeed; if it is not, then the function shall fail. The value of <i>sched_ss_max_repl<\/i> shall be within the inclusive range [1,{SS_REPL_MAX}] for the function to succeed; if not, the function shall fail. It is unspecified whether the <i>sched_ss_repl_period<\/i> and <i>sched_ss_init_budget<\/i> values are stored as provided by this function or are rounded to align with the resolution of the clock being used.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The behavior is undefined if the value specified by the <i>attr<\/i> argument to <i>pthread_attr_getschedparam<\/i>() or <i>pthread_attr_setschedparam<\/i>() does not refer to an initialized thread attributes object.<\/p>\n<h2>RETURN VALUE <a name=\"RETURN VALUE\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">If successful, the <i>pthread_attr_getschedparam<\/i>() and <i>pthread_attr_setschedparam<\/i>() functions shall return zero; otherwise, an error number shall be returned to indicate the error.<\/p>\n<h2>ERRORS <a name=\"ERRORS\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The <i>pthread_attr_setschedparam<\/i>() function shall fail if: <b><br \/> ENOTSUP<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:22%;\">An attempt was made to set the attribute to an unsupported value.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The <i>pthread_attr_setschedparam<\/i>() function may fail if:<\/p>\n<table width=\"100%\" border=\"0\" rules=\"none\" frame=\"void\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tr valign=\"top\" align=\"left\">\n<td width=\"11%\"><\/td>\n<td width=\"9%\">\n<p><b>EINVAL<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"2%\"><\/td>\n<td width=\"49%\">\n<p>The value of <i>param<\/i> is not valid.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"29%\"> <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">These functions shall not return an error code of <b>[EINTR]<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><i>The following sections are informative.<\/i><\/p>\n<h2>EXAMPLES <a name=\"EXAMPLES\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">None.<\/p>\n<h2>APPLICATION USAGE <a name=\"APPLICATION USAGE\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">After these attributes have been set, a thread can be created with the specified attributes using <i>pthread_create<\/i>().
