This manual page is part of the POSIX Programmer\u2019s Manual. The Linux implementation of this interface may differ (consult the corresponding Linux manual page for details of Linux behavior), or the interface may not be implemented on Linux.<\/p>\n

NAME <\/a> <\/h2>\n

aio_error \u2014 retrieve errors status for an asynchronous I\/O operation<\/p>\n

SYNOPSIS <\/a> <\/h2>\n

int aio_error(const struct aiocb *aiocbp<\/i>);<\/p>\n

DESCRIPTION <\/a> <\/h2>\n

The aio_error<\/i>() function shall return the error status associated with the aiocb<\/b> structure referenced by the aiocbp<\/i> argument. The error status for an asynchronous I\/O operation is the errno<\/i> value that would be set by the corresponding read<\/i>(), write<\/i>(), fdatasync<\/i>(), or fsync<\/i>() operation. If the operation has not yet completed, then the error status shall be equal to [EINPROGRESS]<\/b>.<\/p>\n

If the aiocb<\/b> structure pointed to by aiocbp<\/i> is not associated with an operation that has been scheduled, the results are undefined.<\/p>\n

RETURN VALUE <\/a> <\/h2>\n

If the asynchronous I\/O operation has completed successfully, then 0 shall be returned. If the asynchronous operation has completed unsuccessfully, then the error status, as described for read<\/i>(), write<\/i>(), fdatasync<\/i>(), and fsync<\/i>(), shall be returned. If the asynchronous I\/O operation has not yet completed, then [EINPROGRESS]<\/b> shall be returned.<\/p>\n

If the aio_error<\/i>() function fails, it shall return \u22121 and set errno<\/i> to indicate the error.<\/p>\n
