catgets \u2014 read a program message<\/p>\n

char *catgets(nl_catd catd<\/i>, int set_id<\/i>, int msg_id<\/i>, const char *s<\/i>);<\/p>\n

DESCRIPTION <\/a> <\/h2>\n

The catgets<\/i>() function shall attempt to read message msg_id<\/i>, in set set_id<\/i>, from the message catalog identified by catd<\/i>. The catd<\/i> argument is a message catalog descriptor returned from an earlier call to catopen<\/i>(). The results are undefined if catd<\/i> is not a value returned by catopen<\/i>() for a message catalog still open in the process. The s<\/i> argument points to a default message string which shall be returned by catgets<\/i>() if it cannot retrieve the identified message.<\/p>\n

The catgets<\/i>() function need not be thread-safe.<\/p>\n

RETURN VALUE <\/a> <\/h2>\n

If the identified message is retrieved successfully, catgets<\/i>() shall return a pointer to an internal buffer area containing the null-terminated message string. If the call is unsuccessful for any reason, s<\/i> shall be returned and errno<\/i> shall be set to indicate the error.<\/p>\n

The catgets<\/i>() function shall fail if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
