The Linux implementation of this interface may differ (consult the corresponding Linux manual page for details of Linux behavior), or the interface may not be implemented on Linux.<\/p>\n<h2>NAME <a name=\"NAME\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">utime \u2014 set file access and modification times<\/p>\n<h2>SYNOPSIS <a name=\"SYNOPSIS\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">#include <utime.h><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">int utime(const char *<i>path<\/i>, const struct utimbuf *<i>times<\/i>);<\/p>\n<h2>DESCRIPTION <a name=\"DESCRIPTION\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The <i>utime<\/i>() function shall set the access and modification times of the file named by the <i>path<\/i> argument.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">If <i>times<\/i> is a null pointer, the access and modification times of the file shall be set to the current time. The effective user ID of the process shall match the owner of the file, or the process has write permission to the file or has appropriate privileges, to use <i>utime<\/i>() in this manner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">If <i>times<\/i> is not a null pointer, <i>times<\/i> shall be interpreted as a pointer to a <b>utimbuf<\/b> structure and the access and modification times shall be set to the values contained in the designated structure. Only a process with the effective user ID equal to the user ID of the file or a process with appropriate privileges may use <i>utime<\/i>() this way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The <b>utimbuf<\/b> structure is defined in the <i><utime.h><\/i> header. The times in the structure <b>utimbuf<\/b> are measured in seconds since the Epoch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">Upon successful completion, the <i>utime<\/i>() function shall mark the last file status change timestamp for update; see <i><sys\/stat.h><\/i>.<\/p>\n<h2>RETURN VALUE <a name=\"RETURN VALUE\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">Upon successful completion, 0 shall be returned.
