The 2100U is confirmed to work. For the other scanners no reports have been received yet. Please contact us and tell us if your scanner works (<i>sane\u2212devel@alioth-lists.debian.net<\/i>).<\/p>\n<h2>CONFIGURATION <a name=\"CONFIGURATION\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">Usually, no manual configuration is necessary. The configuration file for this backend resides in <i>\/etc\/sane.d\/umax1220u.conf<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">Its content is a list of device names that correspond to UMAX Astra scanners. Empty lines and lines starting with a hash mark (#) are ignored. E.g., a value of 128 requests all debug output to be printed. Smaller levels reduce verbosity:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:22%; margin-top: 1em\"><b>SANE_DEBUG_UMAX1220U<\/b> values:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:22%; margin-top: 1em\">Number Remark <br \/> 1 print failures <br \/> 2 print information <br \/> 3 print high-level function calls <br \/> 4 print high-level function checkpoints <br \/> 9 print mid-level function calls <br \/> 10 print mid-level function checkpoints <br \/> 80 print protocol-level function entry <br \/> 90 print protocol-level function exit<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%;\">Example:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:22%;\">export SANE_DEBUG_UMAX1220U=10<\/p>\n<h2>KNOWN BUGS <a name=\"KNOWN BUGS\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">600 dpi scanning may fail for large image sizes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">If you keep getting I\/O errors, try cycling the power on your scanner to reset it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">There is no way to cancel a scan, since the driver ignores <b>sane_cancel<\/b>().<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">If you try scanning an image which is too small, you will get I\/O errors.
