NAME <\/a> <\/h2>\n

sane\u2212sm3840 \u2212 SANE backend for Microtek scanners with SCAN08 USB chip<\/p>\n

DESCRIPTION <\/a> <\/h2>\n

The sane\u2212sm3840<\/b> library implements a SANE (Scanner Access Now Easy) backend that provides access to some Microtek scanners with the SCAN08 USB chip.<\/p>\n

There exist backends for Microtek scanners with SCSI command set. Refer to sane\u2212microtek<\/b>(5) and sane\u2212microtek2<\/b>(5) for details.<\/p>\n

There also exists a Microtek 3600 series driver, see sane\u2212sm3600<\/b>(5) for details.<\/p>\n

At present, the following scanners are known positively to work with this backend:<\/p>\n

FRONTEND OPTIONS <\/a> <\/h2>\n

The following options are supported by the sane\u2212sm3840<\/b> driver:
\u2212\u2212mode color|gray|lineart|halftone<\/b><\/p>\n

Color or grayscale mode.<\/p>\n

\u2212\u2212resolution 150|300|600|1200<\/b><\/p>\n

Pixels per inch for scans.<\/p>\n

\u2212\u2212depth 8|16<\/b><\/p>\n

Note that the least significant bits of 16bpp mode may be noise.<\/p>\n

\u2212\u2212brightness 1..4096<\/b><\/p>\n

Higher numbers increase brightness of returned image.<\/p>\n

\u2212\u2212contrast 0.1..9.9<\/b><\/p>\n

Larger numbers decrease contrast of returned image.<\/p>\n

\u2212\u2212lamp\u2212timeout 1..15<\/b><\/p>\n

Time in minutes until the lamp is turned off after a scan.<\/p>\n

CONFIGURATION <\/a> <\/h2>\n

This backend does not support a configuration file right now.<\/p>\n

ENVIRONMENT <\/a> <\/h2>\n

SANE_DEBUG_SM3840<\/b><\/p>\n

If the library was compiled with debug support enabled, this environment variable controls the debug level for this backend. E.g., a value of 128 requests all debug output to be printed. Smaller levels reduce verbosity. To see error messages on stderr set SANE_DEBUG_SM3840<\/b> to 1.<\/p>\n
