NAME<\/a> era_dump<\/b> – dump era metadata from device or file to standard output.<\/p>\n era_dump<\/b> [options<\/i>] {device|file}<\/p>\n era_dump<\/b> dumps binary era metadata created by the device-mapper era target on a device or file to standard output for analysis or postprocessing in XML format. XML formated metadata can be fed into era_restore (see era_restore<\/b>(8)) in order to put it back onto a metadata device (to process by the device-mapper target) or file.<\/p>\n This tool cannot be run on live metadata.<\/p>\n -h, –help<\/b><\/p>\n Print help and exit.<\/p>\n -V, –version<\/b><\/p>\n Print version information and exit.<\/p>\n –repair<\/b><\/p>\n Repair the metadata whilst dumping it.<\/p>\n –logical<\/b><\/p>\n Fold any unprocessed write sets into the final era array.<\/p>\n You probably want to do this if you\u2019re intending to process the results as -o<\/b> {xml file} Specify a file for the output rather than writeing to stdout.<\/p>\n Dumps era metadata on logical volume \/dev\/vg\/metadata to standard output in XML format:<\/p>\n $ era_dump \/dev\/vg\/metadata<\/p>\n era_dump<\/b> returns an exit code of 0 for success or 1 for error.<\/p>\n
