If these files are damaged or nonexistent, or when root account is locked by \u2019!\u2019 or \u2019*\u2019 at the begin of the password then <b>sulogin<\/b> will <b>start a root shell without asking for a password<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:22%; margin-top: 1em\">Only use the <b>\u2212e<\/b> option if you are sure the console is physically protected against unauthorized access.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%;\"><b>\u2212p<\/b>, <b>\u2212\u2212login\u2212shell<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:22%;\">Specifying this option causes <b>sulogin<\/b> to start the shell process as a login shell.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%;\"><b>\u2212t<\/b>, <b>\u2212\u2212timeout<\/b> <i>seconds<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:22%;\">Specify the maximum amount of time to wait for user input. By default, <b>sulogin<\/b> will wait forever.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%;\"><b>\u2212h<\/b>, <b>\u2212\u2212help<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:22%;\">Display help text and exit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%;\"><b>\u2212V<\/b>, <b>\u2212\u2212version<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:22%;\">Display version information and exit.<\/p>\n<h2>ENVIRONMENT <a name=\"ENVIRONMENT\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><b>sulogin<\/b> looks for the environment variable <b>SUSHELL<\/b> or <b>sushell<\/b> to determine what shell to start. If the environment variable is not set, it will try to execute root\u2019s shell from <i>\/etc\/passwd<\/i>.
