It should be instantiated for each device that requires integrity protection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">At early boot and when the system manager configuration is reloaded kernel command line configuration for integrity protected block devices is translated into systemd\u2212veritysetup@.service units by <b>systemd-veritysetup-generator<\/b>(8).<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">systemd\u2212veritysetup@.service calls <b>systemd\u2212veritysetup<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h2>COMMANDS <a name=\"COMMANDS\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">The following commands are understood by <b>systemd\u2212veritysetup<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><b>attach<\/b> <i>volume datadevice hashdevice roothash<\/i> [<i>option<\/i>&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\">Create a block device <i>volume<\/i> using <i>datadevice<\/i> and <i>hashdevice<\/i> as the backing devices. <i>roothash<\/i> forms the root of the tree of hashes stored on <i>hashdevice<\/i>.
