This option prints a list of user\/uid pairs separated by the &#8216;:&#8217; character.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%; margin-top: 1em\">Example: pdbedit \u2212L<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:23%; margin-top: 1em\">sorce:500:Simo Sorce <br \/> samba:45:Test User<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">\u2212v|\u2212\u2212verbose<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\">This option enables the verbose listing format. It causes pdbedit to list the users in the database, printing out the account fields in a descriptive format. It will make pdbedit list the users in the database, printing out the account fields in a format compatible with the smbpasswd file format. (see the <b>smbpasswd<\/b>(5) for details). Use &#8220;never&#8221; as argument to set the kickoff time to unlimited.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%; margin-top: 1em\">Example: pdbedit \u2212K never user<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">\u2212a|\u2212\u2212create<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\">This option is used to add a user into the database. This command needs a user name specified with the \u2212u switch. When adding a new user, pdbedit will also ask for the password to be used.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%; margin-top: 1em\">Example: pdbedit \u2212a \u2212u sorce<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:23%; margin-top: 1em\">new password: <br \/> retype new password<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:23%; margin-top: 1em\"><b><big>Note<\/big><\/b> <br \/> pdbedit does not call the unix password synchronization script if <b><font color=\"#0000FF\">unix password sync<\/font><\/b> <font color=\"#000000\">has been set. It only updates the data in the Samba user database.<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:23%; margin-top: 1em\"><font color=\"#000000\">If you wish to add a user and synchronise the password that immediately, use smbpasswd&#8217;s <b>\u2212a<\/b> option.<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><font color=\"#000000\"><big>\u2212t|\u2212\u2212password\u2212from\u2212stdin<\/big><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><font color=\"#000000\"><big>This option causes pdbedit to read the password from standard input, rather than from \/dev\/tty (like the passwd(1) program does). The password has to be submitted twice and terminated by a newline each.<\/big><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><font color=\"#000000\"><big>\u2212r|\u2212\u2212modify<\/big><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><font color=\"#000000\"><big>This option is used to modify an existing user in the database. This command needs a user name specified with the \u2212u switch. Other options can be specified to modify the properties of the specified user. This flag is kept for backwards compatibility, but it is no longer necessary to specify it.<\/big><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><font color=\"#000000\"><big>\u2212m|\u2212\u2212machine<\/big><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><font color=\"#000000\"><big>This option may only be used in conjunction with the <i>\u2212a<\/i> option. It will make pdbedit to add a machine trust account instead of a user account (\u2212u username will provide the machine name).<\/big><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%; margin-top: 1em\"><font color=\"#000000\"><big>Example: pdbedit \u2212a \u2212m \u2212u w2k\u2212wks<\/big><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><font color=\"#000000\"><big>\u2212x|\u2212\u2212delete<\/big><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><font color=\"#000000\"><big>This option causes pdbedit to delete an account from the database.
