If you are using <b>upstart<\/b>(7), use <b>initctl<\/b>(8) to stop <b>acpid<\/b>(8). If you are using <b>systemd<\/b>(1), use <b>systemctl<\/b>(1) to stop <b>acpid<\/b>(8). If you aren\u2019t using either of those, you can try <b>killall<\/b>(1) to stop <b>acpid<\/b>(8).<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">Be sure to run <b>kacpimon<\/b> as root or else it won\u2019t be able to open \/proc\/acpi\/event or the input layer:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:22%; margin-top: 1em\">sudo kacpimon<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\">If you want to pipe the output of <b>kacpimon<\/b> to a file, be sure to use the &#8220;Esc&#8221; key to exit rather than Ctrl-C.
