NAME<\/a> kacpimon \u2212 Kernel ACPI Event Monitor<\/p>\n kacpimon<\/b><\/p>\n kacpimon<\/b> is a monitor program that connects to three sources of ACPI events:<\/p>\n 1. \/proc\/acpi\/event kacpimon<\/b> then reports on what it sees while it is connected.<\/p>\n Use kacpimon<\/b> to make sure your kernel is sending acpi-related events via the three sources mentioned above.<\/p>\n Since both acpid<\/b>(8) and kacpimon<\/b> connect to the same sources, be sure to stop acpid<\/b>(8) before running kacpimon. If you are using upstart<\/b>(7), use initctl<\/b>(8) to stop acpid<\/b>(8). If you are using systemd<\/b>(1), use systemctl<\/b>(1) to stop acpid<\/b>(8). If you aren\u2019t using either of those, you can try killall<\/b>(1) to stop acpid<\/b>(8).<\/p>\n Be sure to run kacpimon<\/b> as root or else it won\u2019t be able to open \/proc\/acpi\/event or the input layer:<\/p>\n sudo kacpimon<\/p>\n If you want to pipe the output of kacpimon<\/b> to a file, be sure to use the “Esc” key to exit rather than Ctrl-C.
