NAME<\/a> foomatic-kitload \u2212 installs a data kit into the foomatic database.<\/p>\n foomatic-kitload<\/b> [ \u2212k kit-dir<\/i>] [ \u2212d dest-dir<\/i>]…<\/p>\n foomatic-kitload<\/b> installs a foomatic data kit into the local data library. It takes a \u2212k dirname<\/i> option, where dirname<\/i> is the toplevel directory of a foomatic driver “kit”. A “kit” is a selection of XML source files arranged exactly as in the source\/section of the master database (ie, opt\/driver\/printer\/ subdirs).<\/p>\n Gimp-Print\u2019s foomatic-generator produces exactly such a kit.<\/p>\n Foomatic-kitload is moderately paranoid about kits: the kit must contain at least one of printer<\/i>, driver<\/i> or opt<\/i>; the kit must contain only files ending in .xml<\/i>, the kit cannot be the local library itself, etc. But it does not inspect the contents of the kit files in any way.<\/p>\n Options dirname is the toplevel directory of a foomatic driver “kit”.<\/p>\n \u2212d\u00a0<\/b>destdir<\/i><\/p>\n destdir is a prefix to prepend to the install path. This will not normally be required, but is useful if installing into a temporary \u2018staging area\u2019 prior to installing in the final destination.<\/p>\n foomatic-kitload<\/b> returns 0 on success, 255 or something else when an error occurs.<\/p>\n
