If a more fine grained control over the resulting image is needed, <b>dracut<\/b> should be called directly.<\/p>\n<h2>OPTIONS <a name=\"OPTIONS\"><\/a> <\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><b><big>\u2212R, \u2212\u2212version<\/big><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>print info about the version<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212k\u00a0<\/b><i><kernel_list><\/i><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>List of kernel images for which initrd files are created (relative to <i>boot_dir<\/i>), Image name should begin with the following string, defaults to <i>vmlinux<\/i> on ppc\/ppc64, <i>image<\/i> on s390\/s390x and <i>vmlinuz<\/i> for everything else.<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212i\u00a0<\/b><i><initrd_list><\/i><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>List of file names (relative to <i>boot_dir<\/i>) for the initrd; positions have to match the <i>kernel_list<\/i>. Defaults to <i>initrd<\/i>.<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212m\u00a0<\/b><i><module_list><\/i><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>Modules to include in initrd, defaults to <i>INITRD_MODULES<\/i> variable in <b>\/etc\/sysconfig\/kernel<\/b>.<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212f\u00a0<\/b><i><feature_list><\/i><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>Features to be enabled for the initrd. In general mkinitrd configures the initrd for the root device it is started from. With this option additional feature can be enabled.<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212b\u00a0<\/b><i><bootdir><\/i><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>Boot directory, defaults to <b>\/boot<\/b>, where the initrd is created.<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212d\u00a0<\/b><i><root_device><\/i><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>Root device, defaults to the device from which the root_dir is mounted; overwrites the rootdev environment variable if set<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212s\u00a0<\/b><i><size><\/i><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>Add splash animation and bootscreen to initrd.<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212D\u00a0<\/b>_<interface><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>Run dhcp on the specified interface (for example &#8220;eth0&#8221;).<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212I\u00a0<\/b>_<interface><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>Configure the specified interface statically.<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212a\u00a0<\/b>_<acpi_dsdt><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>Attach compiled ACPI DSDT (Differentiated System Description Table) to initrd. This replaces the DSDT of the BIOS. Defaults to the <i>ACPI_DSDT<\/i> variable in <b>\/etc\/sysconfig\/kernel<\/b>.<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212M\u00a0<\/b>_<\/p>\n<map><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>System.map file to use.<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212B<\/b><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>Don\u2019t run the <b>update\u2212bootloader(8)<\/b> script after the initrd(s) have been created. This is useful if you call mkinitrd(8) for anything else than the running system.<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212A<\/b><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>Create a so called &#8220;monster initrd&#8221; which includes all available features and modules. This calls dracut with \u2212\u2212no\u2212hostonly and \u2212\u2212no\u2212hostonly\u2212cmdline parameters internally, instead of the default \u2212\u2212hostonly and \u2212\u2212hostonly\u2212cmdline.<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212v, \u2212\u2212verbose<\/b><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>increase verbosity level<\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:11%; margin-top: 1em\"><big><b>\u2212L<\/b><\/big><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:17%;\"><big>Disable logging to <i>\/var\/log\/YaST2\/mkinitrd.log<\/i>.
