DESCRIPTION <\/a> <\/h2>\n

nilfs_cleanerd<\/b> is a system daemon which reclaims disk space of a NILFS2 file system found in device<\/i>.<\/p>\n

The optional directory<\/i> argument specifies the mount point where the daemon operates. It must be an r\/w-mount.<\/p>\n

This program can be invoked either automatically by mount.nilfs2<\/b>(8) or manually by an administrator. However, users are recommended to invoke nilfs_cleanerd<\/b> through mount.nilfs2<\/b>(8) or mount<\/b>(8) and shutdown it through umount.nilfs2<\/b>(8) or umount<\/b>(8) in order to avoid state inconsistencies among administration tools.<\/p>\n

nilfs_cleanerd<\/b> displays its process ID (pid) to standard output when it started.<\/p>\n

SIGNALS <\/a> <\/h2>\n

nilfs_cleanerd<\/b> reacts to a set of signals. You may send a signal to nilfs_cleanerd<\/b> using the PID<\/i> shown by the mount command (or in \/etc\/mtab<\/i>):<\/p>\n

# mount \u2212t nilfs2<\/b>
\/dev\/sdb1 on \/nilfs type nilfs2 (rw,gcpid=PID<\/i>)
# kill \u2212<\/b>SIGNAL PID<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n

The nilfs_cleanerd<\/b> will exit cleanly.<\/p>\n

SIGUSR1, SIGUSR2<\/b><\/p>\n

Reserved for future use. These let nilfs_cleanerd<\/b> die at present.<\/p>\n
