The general form of an rpm rebuild database command is<\/p>\n

rpm<\/b> {–initdb|–rebuilddb<\/b>} [-v<\/b>] [–dbpath<\/b> DIRECTORY<\/i>] [–root<\/b> DIRECTORY<\/i>]<\/p>\n

Use –initdb<\/b> to create a new database if one doesn\u2019t already exist (existing database is not overwritten), use –rebuilddb<\/b> to rebuild the database indices from the installed package headers.<\/p>\n
